Goodbye 2025 Volunteers and Welcome to the New Team!!

September 18, 2025

August is a time of transition in Newcastle and Middlesbrough! Our fantastic team of volunteers wrapped up their service, packed their bags, and set off on their next adventures. A huge thank you to Rasheed, Leah, Fiorella, Nina, Joan, Helen, Nuria, and Ivan for your energy, dedication, and great work. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours!

But there was hardly time to wipe away our tears before it was time to get the houses ready for our wonderful new international team. We’re thrilled to welcome Ella and Kitty from the US, Guillermo from Spain, Riri from Vietnam, Alexa from Mexico, Mitchell from Kenya, and Judy from England.

The new team arrived in London at the beginning of September and travelled up to Newcastle later that week to kick off their orientation. This included getting to know one another, meeting their future colleagues and neighbours, learning about Newcastle, Middlesbrough, and British culture, sorting out practical matters—and of course, enjoying a classic day out at the seaside with fish and chips! The orientation was followed by a first, basic training in Kids Kabin skills: woodwork, pottery, art, cooking…

The team is now all trained and kitted out – ready to open the doors of Kids Kabin and meet the children!

Good luck team and have a fantastic year!
